Greetings,

Yesterday was a very fruitful day on Powhatan Creek.  We kayaked the creek for
five hours and saw: Common moorhen, Orchard oriole, Prothonatary warbler,
Yellow-throated warblers, Wood duck, Blue-gray gnatcatchers, Great creasted
flycatchers, Bald eagle and many other species.  What was really weird were the
snapping turtles in the trees.  I guess they like to climb.  Two beautiful deer
stood in the lillies eating, the butterflies were everywhere, and the
vegetation healthy and thick.  Powhatan Creek is an extremely biodiverse
ecosystem and has never failed to remind me of it's spirit to remain pristine.
It's imparitive we protect this watershed.
