Phil Kenny and I stopped in at CRSF at about 11:30am this morning for about
2 hours. Though late, incredibly muggy, and with near Chincoteague levels
of mosquitos, the birding was excellent. We encountered several large mixed
flocks of migrants plus chickadees and titmice. Highlights were dueting
Barred Owls, 12 warbler species, Veery and Swainson's Thrush,
Yellow-throated and Red-eyed Vireos.
Best areas were the pipeline R.O.W. and the wet areas on either side of the
raised abandoned railroad bed trail.
