I lopoked around Craney Island this morning for a few hours. I did not see
anything very unusual, but the number of shorebirds has increased since I
was last there. There was a Black-necked Stilt on the west side, near the
office building. I also saw many Yellowlegs and Dowitchers. I went to the
spot where the Willow Flycatcher had been heard, but I did not hear it
today. I did not see any Least Terns today, which seemed strange, but I saw
several Gull-billed and Royal Terns. Other shorebirds included a Stilt
Sandpiper, some peep (mainly Least Sandpipers), a Semipalmated Plover, and
Spotted Sandpipers.
