I had to be at the New Kent Courthouse area this morning, so I rode through Cumberland. It was misting rain and cloudy, so no pictures, but I had a good outing.

There were a bunch of birds on the wires on the way in, I think they were swallows. Once in, we walked down on the platform. It was starting to rain, but I was treated to the following:

1 adult bald eagle
1 osprey
1 kingfisher
2 white egrets
4 blue grosbeaks

I rode over to the damned area and saw two yellow rump warblers and 1 red tailed hawk. The area there has gotten very dense and overgrown but it has populated with all kinds of beautiful wild flowers. I am going to plan on a day trip with sunshine to photograph them. The warblers were down with the flowers.
I was also noticing today how many trees have strated to turn and are already dropping leaves. There are many brown and red leaves already out there.
