The Dickcissel location that Laura Catterton reported on last week was
still hot today with three individuals singing from conspicuous
perches. The following additional species added extra interest:
Bobwhite, Chat, Brown Thrasher, Willow Flycatcher, Blue Grosbeak,
Prairie Warbler, Grasshopper Sparrow, Orchard Oriole, and others that
you might expect to see in our rapidly vanishing countryside. Thanks,
Laura!
Her directions, again: To get to this spot, take Bristersburg Rd.
south, off of Rt. 28. Go about 2/3 mile and take a left onto Old
Weaversville Rd., following the road about 1/4 mile as it turns sharply
right. Continue until you see three short, fat silos on the left (east)
and park along the roadside.
