Because of Hurricane Isabelle the Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge has
the majority of the refuge closed. Also with the amount of rain this year many
of the roads are likely to be closed. That means unfortunately that this years
count is not going to occur. It was scheduled for 3 Jan 2004. Tom Gwynn and I
are sorry about this but the limited area outside the refuge just does not
warrant 20 or so people participating. Thanks and have a Happy and a
