Three determined birders showed up for the montly walk at the Dora Kelley
Park adjacent to the
Ford Nature Center.  Things were pretty quiet.  Our best birds were 1 BELTED
KINGFISHER,
1 PILEATED WOODPECKER and 2 COOPERS HAWKS, 1 adult and one immature.
However, the habitat
is looking really good for the warblers, especially Louisiana Waterthrush.
It looks as
though there will be some excellent bathing spots.
After the walk Charlotte Friend and I went over to Ft. Ward Park where we
had 5 FOX SPARROWS
2 PINE WARBLERS and 2 CHIPPING SPARROWS.
