Greetings to all:

This morning a quick trip to Staunton River Battlefield State Park produced
several species of ducks and hawk along with 2 Bald Eagles.

The ducks seen were as follows:
American Black Duck - 20
Northern Shoveler  - 15
Ring-necked Duck - 35
Bald Eagle 2 (1 adult & 1 immature)
Red-shouldered Hawks - 2 (a pair together)
Northern Harrier - 1 along trail to Randolph
Red-tailed Hawk - 1

At the large cooling pond at the Clover Power Plant near the park, a
Red-necked Grebe was seen.  This was my first Red-necked Grebe for Halifax
Co.  A flock of 8 Hooded Mergansers, 7 DC Cormorants, a small number of
Ring-billed Gulls and 2 other grebes that were to far away to ID.

Good Birding Always
