I visited Dutch Gap this afternoon ahead of the upcoming big freeze. Good
numbers and diversity of ducks.
The male American Black Duck X Mallard hybrid that has been seen at this
location a number of times in winter, was there again today. He was seen
mating with an American Black Duck.
There are prior eBird records of a hybrid dating back as far as 2006. If
it's the same bird he is at least 9 years old
