It was a cold morning along the river at the weekly Sunday morning Friends of
Dyke Marsh sponsored bird walk. Eight of us braved the frigid conditions to see
a nice collection of waterfowl including Tundra Swans, a Common Goldeneye and
rafts of various other ducks. It was difficult to get a really accurate count
since they were all mixed together and sometimes submerged as they looked for
food. We also saw nine Bald Eagles, both kinglets, Fox Sparrows, and a
Peregrine Falcon casting a shadow from its perch on the Wilson Bridge.
