To our surprise a female Purple Finch showed up at the feeder this morning.
This is nearly 2 weeks before any early data in the past 9 years. I'll post
photos with my ebird list sometime this weekend.
Also seen were Red-eyed Vireo, Warbling Vireo, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Magnolia
Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Common Yellow-throat, Tennessee Warbler and
several unidentified warblers. Bad light was not helpful this morning.
A family of goldfinches is still feeding their young. So breeding season for
this species is not yet over.
Happy birding.
