Hi,
I birded Elklick Woodlands from mid-morning to early afternoon on this warm,
humid day.
I obtained my first park sighting of Summer Tanager today. I've heard them but
never seen them there. First a mustard yellow female flew out of the woods to
perch on a branch 15' from me. We watched each other before she flew back into
the woods a bit. Then the male appeared nearby. He later sang. They must be
breeding there somewhere.
A couple of Common Ravens called from afar.
I pair of Wild Turkey near the utility company property, same place where I've
seen turkey and turkey tracks.
It's fun to ID the flowers and butterflies here, too. Lots of Wood and Deer
ticks so be careful if you visit.
