Hi,
A Summer Tanager vocalized repeatedly on this beautiful morning at Elklick
Woodlands in western Fairfax Co. This is my third Summer Tanager here in the
past year and a half but my first one ever in the fall in No. Va. I attempted
to see it but the voice kept moving farther and farther away as the bird moved
through the trees.
Other neat birds include at least 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, a couple of flyover
Bobolinks and a Common Raven. A large number of butterflies was present.
