Warblers and more warblers - 15 different species this week.  The last week
is coming up - we close up migration shop on Sunday May 25, ending with our
traditional Dixie Bones picnic.

 

 

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 - 87 net-hours, 4 visitors - banded 31 birds of 17
species:

EAWP -1- Eastern Wood Pewee

VEER -2- Veery

GRCA -1- Gray Catbird

YWAR -2- Yellow Warbler

CSWA -1- Chestnut-sided Warbler

MYWA -6- Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler

BLPW -1- Blackpoll Warbler - 1st of the season

PROW -1- Prothonotary Warbler

OVEN -1- Ovenbird, 1st of the season

NOWA -1- Northern Waterthrush

COYE -5- Common Yellowthroat

YBCH -2- Yellow-breasted Chat

FISP -1- Field Sparrow

WTSP -2- White-throated Sparrow

NOCA -1- Northern Cardinal

INBU -1- Indigo Bunting

RWBL -2- Red-winged Blackbird

 

Recaptured 3 birds:

YWAR -1- Yellow Warbler

NOCA -1- Northern Cardinal

RWBL -1- Red-winged Blackbird, banded May 2006

 

Unbanded: RTHU -2- Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, male released at Net 2 and
female released at Net 9.

WIWA -1- Wilson's Warbler

LISP -1- Lincoln's Sparrow

NOCA -1- Northern Cardinal

INBU -1- Indigo Bunting

COGR -2- Common Grackle

AMGO -2- American Goldfinch

ETTI -1- Eastern Tufted Titmouse, banded May 2007

INBU -2- Indigo Bunting, one this year, and one banded May 2007
