I spent the morning birding Edmund's Park in Halifax Co. Highlights were
great looks at 2 singing BOBOLINKS, a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL on the main
pond and a WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (my first spring record). I also had nice
looks at a very territorial Yellow Warbler that was chasing every bird that
came near him including Grackles. Orchard Orioles, Blue Grosbeaks and
Indigo Buntings were in full song.
Still no Scarlet Tanangers or Cuckoos, and somehow I managed to miss Brown
Thrasher.
