Encouraged by Don Sweig's posting from 9/18 we arrived at Riverbend Park
just as the morning sun shone through the lifting fog onto the trees at the
western side of the upper meadow. This is a fine place to observe autumn
migration; at least it was today. The show lasted until about 9:00 am. The
highlight was a large number of Tennessee Warblers, several of which joined
the Common Yellowthroats in the wingstem for fabulous views. We waited
around to see if the Broad-winged Hawks would put on an encore performance,
but at 10:00 we gave up and drove out to Snickers Gap.....
