Birders,
An unexpected sick day today has turned into a nice backyard birding day.
New yard bird (and my FOS anywhere this year) was WARBLING VIREO. Long looks
confirmed it was not a Philly - almost all white underside including the
throat, relatively large bill, slender overall.
Also my 4th BLUE-HEADED VIREO of the year, and FOS at the house.
We have 4 species currently nesting close to the house: House Wren, Carolina
Wren (inside a kayak!!), Bluebirds, and a very busy M-F pair of Hairy
Woodpeckers. From their frequency of nest hole visits, I have to assume these
Hairy WP's are feeding hatchlings.
eBird checklist is # S23145328.
Happy spring everyone.
