Hello all,

We took a walk along the Potomac River at Riverbend Park (Fairfax County, VA) this afternoon.

In addition to CANADA GEESE, AMERICAN COOT, PIED-BILLED GREEBE, MALLARD, a couple of female RING NECKED DUCK, and GREAT BLUE HERON on the river,

we found a solitary female COMMON GOLDENEYE.

It was about 200 yards downriver from the Visitor Center actively diving.

Also, farther down river, we found what could bethe four bird (two adults, two juveniles) family of TUNDRA SWAN we found a couple of weeks ago.

Good birding to all,

Jay and Carol Hadlock
