Hi all.
My metaphorical surfboard broke on the web, so I have not been able to see
what's been happening for awhile. Hope I didn't miss much.
I always listen for birds briefly before going to work. It is a spiritual
thing for me as well as fun.
Anyway, my parents and I live in a cul-de-sak off Lexington St at 27th Rd.
North.
Suddenly, I noted the first RB Nuthatch beeping as they so cutely do.
(10/15/08)
Across the street, my neighbor has a midsize pine with large cones. For
some reason I had never taken note of that fact or I would have paid more
attention to that area
in the hopes of seeing these rascals.
No luck, seeing it (1?) however. I will have to bribe my neighbor for
better looks at that pine!
My dad also noted a healthy looking red fox that seems to be hanging around
the home behind the pine tree somewhere. I suspect that the neighborhood
gardening is providing plenty of fare for rabbits.
I have seen a lot of young bunnies in the back yard. I am sure that the fox
is grateful for our green thumbs.
A couple of years ago, we had some denning up underneath a neighbor's deck.
I have heard that this is a fairly common thing. So check your decks
everybody!
