Hello Birders,
Adding to the Franklin's Gull invasion that swept into Virginia this Friday
(the 13th)... At about 1:30pm I briefly observed a single Franklin's Gull
on the James River in downtown Richmond. I viewed the bird from Brown's
Island as it rested on the water with Laughing Gulls. I only was able to
spend about 5 minutes with the bird before the flock moved farther
upriver. Later in the day I tried to refind the bird without luck (though
I did find the/a laughing gull flock about a mile upstream). I managed a
few low quality pictures which are in the eBird list:
