Greetings,
A beautiful morning to bird around Jamestown Island (near Williamsburg) with
fellow birder Cheryl Jacobson. The best bird of the day was Virginia Rail --
two of them crossed the loop road, from one marsh to another. Then we heard
them calling in the marsh.
Tree swallows are back and Wilson's Snipe were easy to find with the continued
high water around the island from last week's storm and rain. Pine Warblers
gave stunning views -- one on the ground near the road!

By the way -- Jamestown Island supports four active Bald Eagle nests this year.
We observed one adult bird in a nest and another perched in a tree near the
causeway.
