Hello All,
Along 614, about 3 to 5 miles south of Rte. 250 in Highland County,
Robyn and I had nice views of an immature Golden Eagle. We watched it
for several minutes as it landed, hovered and swirled over the
Cowpasture River. The tale base was white, with a long dark tip. The
armpits were dark. The nape and crown were lovely gold. The leading
edge of the wings showed some nice light color as well. A few American
Crows did not seem to appreciate the company as much as we did.
Cheers,
