I went over to the location Bob Augustine told me for the kites in
Springfield this morning and again late this afternoon. Saw them both times.
About 10a.m., I saw two kites for brief flights. I arrived back there about
4:15 this afternoon. Saw birds very high and far away until a bit after
5:00, when they came down and flew around affording excellent views. One
landed twice in a nearby tree, again, affording super scope views ( one
could even see the insect it was eating in its beak). Between 5 and 6 ,or
so, seemed to be the best time for the best looks. I intend to go back soon.
