I visited Goodwin Islands today, but unfortunately the fog was heavy all
day. Two species of interest for this IBA were found: American Black Duck
and Brown-headed Nuthatch. Swamp Sparrows were the dominate marsh species.
I found a series of small rail tracks through the cord grass potential
belonging to a Sora or Virginia Rail...do I dare hope for a Black Rail. The
Forster's Tern, seen approaching the island, was in full breeding plumage.
