I was overdressed for my long walk to the north end of Grandview beach in
Hampton Virginia this morning. Thefair weather produced few sea ducks. Surf
scoters and Buffelheads only. Common loon and many red throated loons. At the
very north end of the beach were 20 Savannah sparrows in a multitude of color
variations. From very light to very dark with red in between. Present were
vesper sparrow and Seaside sparrow. On my return hike I found two snow buntings
near the rock outcrop closest to the parking area.
