Right around noon today I was very surprised to find a GRAY CATBIRD out in the
open about 10 feet in front of me on the newly mown center strip of the Sparrow
Pond wetland complex along the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Trail in
Arlington. Got a number of photos since it was being so cooperative. Seems very
late for up here. Also, the area was fairly birdy otherwise including lots of
Cardinals, Song Sparrows, GC Kinglets, unidentified other guys, and a
momentarily glimpsed possible Common Yellowthroat in the brush by the water.
If you don't know the area and do GPS, the pond is at these coordinates:
38.862216° -77.115541°
Cheers,
Steve
