Tony Adcock and I walked the Riverwalk Trail in Danville this morning and were
surprised to find a Great Egret on the river near the Main St. bridge. A Bald
Eagle flew down the river...tail dingy white. A pair of Hooded Mergansers
checked out the river where the dam used to be in front of the Brantley Steam
Plant. And a curious call from a particular Blue Jay that had us stumped at
first...doing a Woodpecker call! I've heard them do a Red-shouldered Hawk but
a Woodpecker?!
Good birding,
