I made a quick trip to Huntley Meadows, 5:20 to 6:40pm today, April 23, 2015.
Three species of note:
There were four Solitary Sandpipers, FOS for me.
Three Hooded Merganser, one pair, as was a lone female.
And a Great Egret, which had circular green wing-tags on each wing.
I estimate the wing-tags to be circular, about 3 inches in diameter;
The wing-tags were made of soft fabric, because they flapped up in the wind.
And probably a F&W service band on the right leg.
I was able to get a few photos with a point/shoot camera.
Photos available if desired.
It would be nice to know the origin of this egret.
