Our group of six braved the muggy heat this morning and tallied 36 species.
Down at the locks we were surpised by butterflies landing on us
and drinking. Overall it was a very quiet day. Highlights included good looks
at a green heron in the river. Geese were sighted flying in a V
and no longer paired off. All are welcome to jon this Sunday walk at 8:00am in
the vicinty of the vistiors center courtyard. -- Marshall Rawson, McLean VA
