Because of the heat this morning our two birders surveyed the picnic area,
third overlook, clay pond and upstream below the dam. Overall both the numbers
of individuals and species [29] were low. We had particularly nice views of
the wood ducks on a log in the pond, a red-eyed vireo along the river and a
green heron on the river. This Sunday morning walk is open to all and meets at
