On this drizzly morning our group of five birders tallied 44 species.
Numbers were low. Most of the mallards
were in puddles in the picnic area as opposed to being on the river.
We had a good look at the eagle chick
who stood on the edge of the nest flapping its wings. All are welcome
to join this Sunday walk that meets at
8:00am in the visitors center courtyard. -- Marshall Rawson, McLean VA
