Our group of ten tallied 40 species on this beautiful Sunday morning.
Yellow-rumps were everywhere and
swifts were out in full force. Our vulture counts continue to increase from
the previous week. Waxwings were also plentiful. We had a full complement of
woodpeckers for the park. With the river higher than last week we saw only
three ducks and three cormorants. Sparrows were more plentiful with
white-throats, songs and a chippy. It was a great day day to be out and about.
This Sunday walk meets at 8:00 am near the visitors center courtyard although
recently we have been delayed by a flock in the parking lot. All are welcome.
