Today Fenton Day and I did some birding . At Hoffler Park in Portsmouth 2 Gull
Billed Terns were working the marsh . At Weyanoke in Norfolk some migrants
included 6 Blackpoll 20 Myrtle Warbler 5 Black& White Warbler 1 Black Th. Blue
Warbler 1 Northern Waterthrush 5 Parula Warbler 3 Common Yellowthroat 1 Red
Eyed Vireo 1 Swainsons Thrush 1 Baltimore Oriole. Over the weekend some Scarlet
Tangers passed thru Weyanoke.
Yesterday May 3rd at First Landing Sp I saw the following 1 Bay Breasted
Warbler 7 Blackpoll 3 Black Th. Blue Warbler 4 American Redstart 2 Blue
Grosbeak and 3 Solitary Sandpiper. I saw all these in the campgrounds to the
east of the parking lot , you can park at the playground. Many of the campsites
are still under water , birding has been good there if anyone visits the park
In Norfolk Common Terns Black Skimmer and Least Terns have returned to the area
and today an Imm Northern Gannet was viewed from 21st Bay st.
