Official Counter: Bill James
Observers: Baron Gibson, Darryl Martin, Katie James
Visitors:
Darryl spent most of the day with us. This is his self directed volunteer
work and he is irreplaceable and a major asset to the hawkwatch.
Competitive volunteer foci would perhaps lead to the termination of the
Martinsville contingent at this piece of the world.
Weather:
Socked in to start the day and slow clearing until mid-afternoon with cloud
cover ranging from 100 to 25%. Temp 19 to 25C. Visibility started at 0
and rose to only 3. Most Beaufort was 1 until about 3 o'clock then going
to 2 ranging from SSE to SE and perhaps ESE.
Raptor Observations:
Adult Eagles at 2:08 and 2:31. One stream of 10 BWs. A squirrel was
jabbering in the trees and suddenly a Redtailed hawk left the area, very
close. No Ospreys and no Accipiters.
Non-raptor Observations:
A frustrating day with slow clearing and slow migration.
Predictions:
Chance of thunder.
