A few parkway goers.
Weather:
Winds were variable from direction & strength. Thin clouds covered up the
deep blue we have been looking at lately (nice to see something besides
blue) and the temps were very warm for this time of year.
It was a pretty day to be on the mountain.
Raptor Observations:
The lack of migration continues as we had no countable hawks until right
before the 3p hour when an NG soared through on the east side.
Local Rt & SS obsreved several times during watch.
Non-raptor Observations:
Pileated WP fussing & flying the last couple of hours of watch & at one
point it sounded so close that I think it startled Dave & myself with the
loudness of fussing.
We need 50 more countable hawks to break the second highest recorded year
which was 2007. Last year we broke that 2007 record with 15,398.
Predictions:
Rain possible within the next two day & then the southerly winds will
continue for the next couple of weeks.
