Nobody rolled down the window. But often, neither did I.
Weather:
NW winds all day at about a Beaufort 5. 9 AM wind gust reading of 36 MPH.
Cloudy for the most part with snow showers late. GG reading on the
thermometer (good grief) ranging from 6 to 1 C.
Raptor Observations:
Afton RTs continue their slow migration south. Tad predicted the first
bird would be an Eagle and sure enough at 10:19 an adult BE came through on
a somewhat circuitous route ending southward. Saw a RT appear to kite over
the ridge to the North, but he kept rising straight up very high with no
circling. He joined a RS already there. We are just 40 birds short of an
all time total bird record.
Non-raptor Observations:
I was discussing with Tad the RTs failure to appear as they should and I
thought he stated: "Just like today." Which didn't make sense and when I
asked for clarification, he said "Just like Todd Day".
