Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end   time: 17:15:00
Total observation time: 8.25 hours

Official Counter:        Baron Gibson

Observers:        Norris Ford

Visitors:
3 thru hikers got some trail magic today. Not only did they get plenty of
water, Kathy gave them the rest of her pizza. Then Kathey realized she knew
the guy from the mid seventies. Talkin about a small world.

Thanks to Kathryn Brett and Andy Biggs for their help in spotting today.

Weather:
Heavy cloud cover just over the Knob all day. Cool temps.
Basically no wind but what was felt came from the NW until the last hour
turning E.

Raptor Observations:
First hawk was a male Harrier that appeared out of the fog.
Adult and Imm. Balds together @ 13:25

We did not see multiple hawks until the 1-2 hour and they were in and out
of the clouds and fog. Once the fog lifted we started seeing some small
kettles that streamed on through.

Last hawk was a Kestrel

Non-raptor Observations:
Barred owl calling, Downy and Pileated heard.

Predictions:
All depends on the cloud cover as I am sure we missed hundreds of hawks
today in the heavy cloud cover.
