Visitors:
A couple of hikers on the AT stopped by asking for water which we were able
to give them.
Weather:
Ridge level winds out of the NW, Beaufort level 4. Upper level winds out of
the SW. A strong cold front moved through during the count period with 100%
cloud cover until midafternoon when clouds started to move out. Temps.
stayed in the low 40s. A few snow flurries seen.
Raptor Observations:
A disappointing day with only 8 migrating raptors seen.
Non-raptor Observations:
One flock of 25 or so Pine Siskins landed in a tree below the overlook. A
pair of Ravens came by apparently looking for a handout.
Predictions:
Similar to today but colder. Hopefully this front will get the Redtails
moving.
