Visitors:
Darryl was a big help today in hawk watching, forestry and wood pile
design. His Ducati brought a talkative admirer.
Weather:
Very nice Northwest to West wind most of the day with good cloud cover, hot
but not too hazy.
Raptor Observations:
Eagles were close (Eagle Alley). The last bird of the day appeared mostly
white, seemed to be carrying something with its feet hanging down at first,
but then seemed to be light and airy in flight. There was some flapping as
it approached up from the West with the speculation of Accipiter from one
observer, then Osprey because of all the white. I took one photo with the
bird leaving at a distance which isn't much help. It occurred to me later
that the feet hanging down as it came up may have been a tail. But no
agreement, thus UR. Adult Eagles at 12:41, 1:15. 1:42 and an Imm. at 2:23.
Non-raptor Observations:
Seemed like a big bird day and twas.
