Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end   time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Zak Poulton

Observers:        Calvin Brennan

Visitors:
Calvin Brennan spent a few hours at the Hawk watch after he closed the
banding station.

Weather:
Overcast most of the day and I must say it was a relief after yesterday's
clear skies.  It was calm in the morning and for the rest of the day a
steady East South East wind.

Raptor Observations:
The morning started out with two Northern Harriers moving directly over the
platform.  Conditions today produced a flight path right over the platform
for most of the day.  The afternoon produced the first Cooper's Hawk of the
season.

Non-raptor Observations:
There is a great diversity of Butterflies in Kiptopeke State Park, with
Common Buckeye being the most abundant right now.  Calvin Brennan pointed
out a Cape May Warbler today; we both got a great look as it sat on an
exposed pine branch near the platform.  A Caspian and Royal Tern were some
of the other highlights observed today.

Predictions:
We will have to see what tomorrow brings; it will be up to Earl.  This
weekend is going to have lower temperatures and hopefully this weather
system will bring some raptors with it.
