Visitors:
We had Harry Armisted, Bob and Thuy Anderson on hand to help with the hawk
watch. Calvin Brennan and Chris Foster were on the platform this
afternoon.
Weather:
Blue skies and calm in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with
wind switching from North West to East South East. The high temperature
for the day was 29 degrees Celsius.
Raptor Observations:
Ospreys were still the most observed raptor today with 42. There were 4
adult Red-shouldered Hawks counted today, which is a little unusual for
this time of the year. Peregrine Falcons are also starting to appear, with
3 individuals today. This is the first they have been seen this year.
Non-raptor Observations:
Purple Martins are still migrating and feeding over the platform all day.
A Black-throated Green Warbler and a Yellow-throated Warbler were in the
cherry tree in front of the platform this morning. I observed my first
Tricolored Heron this fall moving North over the platform around 9:30 a.m.
