Visitors:
I had plenty of help today. Bob and Thuy Anderson, Harry Armistead, Brian
Taber, Chris Foster were on hand. This allowed us to keep an eye in every
direction, it really helped with the fast flying Falcons.
Weather:
Today we broke the South wind curse. Winds were from the North East for
most of the day. This brought in the front we have been expecting. Causing
a well need drop in temperature. The high was 25 C today. There was also
100 percent cloud cover all day which was a relief after the past week of
bright blue skies.
Raptor Observations:
We had a great flight all around today. Northern Harriers (90) and
Sharp-shinned Hawks (400) are at an all time high. Todayâs total was
1,376.
Non-raptor Observations:
Kiptopeke State Park was very active this morning. Northern Parula were
the most common warbler. We also had a White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireo in the
same shrub by the platform. A Bobwhite was also heard singing most of the
morning.
