Weather:
Cold this morning with heavy frost on the platform and lawn. Blue skies
helped warm things up quickly. Light winds out of the northeast early
shifting westerly.
Raptor Observations:
A few birds mixed in with all the vultures today.
Highlight was a non-counted Northern Goshawk that was seen heading north
in the early afternoon.
Non-raptor Observations:
Another 92 Red Crossbills counted going south today; this pushes our
cumulative RECR count for the season over 1000 birds!
Additional highlights: 2+ White-winged Crossbills, 75+ American Pipits,
1200+ Ring-billed Gulls, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch continues. Also, 1
Monarch!
Predictions:
A bit warmer tomorrow with clear skies and southwest winds. Come on out for
the final official day of the 2012 season!
