Observers:
Visitors:
20 people came by the tower but none were birders or even interested in
birds. They were hiking, riding dirt bikes, sightseeing, taking pictures or
camping.
Weather:
About 20 degrees cooler today than earlier this week. Winds were out of the
west or NW at 8 to 10 mph. Clear skies.
Raptor Observations:
Immature Golden Eagle floated by at 3:50pm. It was at eye level and only 30
feet away and I did not have my camera. About 45 minutes later an immature
Mississippi Kite went by the tower below eye level and close.
All Broad-winged Hawks seen were on the north side of the ridge and low.
Non-raptor Observations:
No Monarch Butterflies and very few other migrants.
