Weather:
Day started out very cloudy which cleared up at noon only to become
completely overcast by 2pm. Winds were calm at 8am, increasing gradually to
20-28km/hr by 1pm from the West, then decreasing to 6-11km/hr at 2pm.
Temperature started out at 15'C increasing to a high of 22.5'C at 1pm. Bar.
pressure 1016>1014 and humidity was 43% at 7am, 63% at 10am, 37% at 2pm.
Raptor Observations:
Slow morning but traffic picked up as the winds increased form the West by
late morning. Then the winds slowed, the sky became totally overcast, and
all traffic stopped. Peregrine Falcon at 8:20am and a juvenile Golden Eagle
at 12:18pm (our 2nd GE of the season. Birds were flying low in the morning
and high in the afternoon.
Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of flocks of birds flying through in the morning.
Several flocks of robins (100, 40, 40) totalling 180.
Lots of Cedar Waxwing flocks (20, 20, 7, 15, 25, 25, 20) totaling 132.
5 Ravens.
Flock of ~50 Crows.
4 Monarch butterflies.
Predictions:
Mainly sunny. High 57F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Maybe we'll see more Red
Tailed Hawks tomorrow?
