Visitors:
Daniel Mapel and Bukki (hungry dog that ate something unidentified in the
parking lot!).
Weather:
Brisk (20-38km/hr) NW winds all day. 10-17C temps. Overcast early, partly
sunny midday, mostly sunny in afternoon. Low huidity (40->25%). Clear
visibility.
Raptor Observations:
Constant action throughout the day. Another, our 4th, Golden Eagle
(immature) at 11:59am. Two immature BE (12:46pm, 1:34pm) and one adult BE
(1:49pm). Nine raptor species in all. First bird: 8:00am Merlin. Last bird:
3:29pm SS pair.
Non-raptor Observations:
Several large formations of Cormorants (12+175+25+40=252). Other sightings
include 7 Canada Geese, 20 Siskins, 20 Ravens, 103 Waxwings, 175 Robins,
two murders of crows (45 & 50), 1 Great Blue Heron, 2 RCKinglets,
3GCKinglets, 85 RWBlackbirds, 25 Grackles, 1 Sapsucker and 2 young
Whitetail bucks over near the visitor's center.
