Raptor Observations:
A few more BW today. While monitoring Common Nighthawk migration, a very
late Osprey at 7:33 p.m. EDST (6:33 p.m. EST) sailing high overhead
heading south along the ridge.
Non-raptor Observations:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 16;
Barn Swallow - single bird heading south late afternoon;
Common Nighthawk - Total of 63 consisting of a single bird flew by close
heading NW then W over the valley at 4:05 p.m. EST; 16@ 5:21; 33@6:09
p.m.; 8@ 6:23 p.m.; 1@6:48 and 4@6:54 p.m. EST.
Chimney Swift - hundreds moving through heading west into valley.
Observed small flock swirling over lower parking area and old, abandoned
buildings and counted at least 70 entering chimney of the old Howard
Johnson Restaurant.
