Official Counter: Vic Laubach
Observers: Brenda Tekin, Rose Thomas
Visitors:
Ethan Carr & daughter Marion from Charlottesville, Pete Nabel, Marshall
Faintich, Tom & Suzanna Dilts from Richmond (who promise to come back in a
couple weeks!), Janet Paisley (who loved the nice view of the American
Kestrel that flew right over our heads), and Tom Lord. We hope to see you
all more up here this fall! Marshall, no more calling out all those
vultures with your new 10X binoculars! :) Pete, good to see you again!
Weather:
Bright and sunny with little to no clouds all day. Moderate breezes from
W-SW. Cool temperatures of 13.5-19.5*C. Very good visibility.
Raptor Observations:
It was an eye-straining day trying to find what few birds there were in the
blue sky. A few came over very close which offered nice photographs.
Non-raptor Observations:
11 Hummingbirds, 6 Ravens, many Chimney Swifts, Cedar Waxwings. Lots of
migrating warblers flying over us in the morning, but it's hard enough
identifying them when sitting still in a bare tree only 20 feet away. 11
Monarchs.
Predictions:
Sunny and a tad warmer. If anyone comes up to visit tomorrow, please BYOC
(bring-your-own-clouds)!
