Cloudy in the morning and becoming cloudless by 2pm. Temps 22.5-26.0*C.
Moderate NW winds throughout the day.
Raptor Observations:
A slow morning followed by an afternoon ruled by American Kestrels, with 14
observed between 1:00-4:30pm. At 2:20pm, our first Merlin of the season (an
immature) flew slowly overhead, clutching something in its talons and
taking bites of it from time to time as it flew over. All of the Kestrels
flew in low over the ridge ahead and did a lot of playing around in the
wind before flying over. Most of the Kestrels today were traveling together
in pairs (and one group of 3).
Non-raptor Observations:
10 Hummingbirds, 3 Ravens, and some Chimney Swifts.
Predictions:
Sunny and warm
