Weather:
A nice day indeed to be outdoors. Winds continued out of the NNW but
greatly diminished from yesterday. Speed: 6-11 km/h diminishing to less
than 6 km/h when winds shifted to out of the East by 12 p.m. Temp:
17.1c>23.8c; Humidity: 60% steadily dropping to 51%; Bar.Pressure: 1004;
Partly cloudy to no cloud cover then few clouds moving back in.
Raptor Observations:
"I felt the earth move under my feet..."
The 5.8 earthquate that hit the region (epicenter at Mineral, VA) was also
felt on top of Afton. Rose Thomas reported hearing the very loud noise,
like a freight train and then the quake hit, rattling the very large glass
windows of the Inn. (I think I would have moved away from all that
glass!!!) Also on hand was Alan Richardson returning after a year or turn
absence. Welcome back Alan!
A few bird flew today .
Non-raptor Observations:
Two White-tailed Deer around old teepee on north side of gap.
